Requires a loyal friend to accompany the journey? A robot named Affective Driving Intelligent Agent (AIDA) will become a reliable friend.

The team from MIT to refine this robot hoping AIDA can help change the way people interact with their vehicles.

“With the presence of sensor and mobile computing, information about the things around us will be easy to get,” said Professor Carlo Ratti, director of MIT’s SENSEable City Lab.

AIDA is an MIT project with mutual cooperation and the Volkswagen Audi Group of America’s Electronics Research Lab. AIDA is designed to be placed on the dashboard of the vehicle, and provide real-time information from the Internet about the traffic, as well as refueling centers along the route driver.

Quoted from Computerworld, Monday (2/11/2009), not only that, this robot is programmed to be able to remember the route to and from work, as well as the usual location of the intended rider, such as grocery stores. The AIDA is also able to monitor the driver’s face as tired or worried expression.

AIDA will communicate with the driver through a number of visual movements such as blinking eyes or a smile, and give verbal information about alternative routes or levels of vehicle fuel.

“Within a week, AIDA able to memorize the location of the home and workplace drivers. AIDA can also provide feedback on driving behavior, helping the rider to more energy efficient and safe driving,” said Assaf Biderman, associate director of the SENSEable City Lab.

However, no mention is unclear when this robot project will be completed and ready for the market. Before MIT, has a number of companies and universities that try to ‘marry’ with a robot vehicle. One of them is a robot that Nissan Agent besutan using the camera to read the expression on the face of the driver, and speak in English and Japanese

Three separate missions both researching the Moon to find convincing evidence that there is water there. Water was available at the Moon’s poles and perhaps formed by the solar wind.

Three reports will be published in the journal Science said Friday that water moves actively, sometimes formed and disappeared again as dngan mixing with the dust on the surface of the Moon.

One report is taken from the mission-Chandrayaan-1 India’s first mission to the Moon. The data studied Carle Pieters of Brown University in Rhode Island showed the presence of water spectrographic evidence. Water is increasingly found in areas closer to the poles of the Moon.

While Jessica Sunshine of the University of Maryland using infrared mapping of the Deep Impact spacecraft to prove the existence of water on the Moon. Another researcher, Roger Clark of the U.S. Geological Survey using the spectrometer – which describes the wave of light to analyze the elements and compounds the body – from the Cassini spacecraft found water.

Reports about the existence of water on this moon appears just as interested researchers to water on the Moon rising. U.S. Space Agency has long been looking for water on the Moon to support the base to be established there.

Next month the spacecraft Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite, or LCROSS NASA will look for water with a vehicle crashed into the Moon’s surface.

Some astronomers have discovered a rocky planets outside our solar system, with a density which proved equal to the Earth, according to a study by a European team.

Planet, known as COROT-7b, was discovered in February this year by the European space telescope, COROT, which has been tracking the star.

Planet is about 500 light years from Earth in the constellation monoceros, Unicorn. Although scientists have been looking for life in the sky in a long time, there are allegations that a planet requires a solid surface to support life.

Exoplanet from more than 300 known, it is the first planet discovered that was not big and gassy.

The findings of rocky planets like the Earth density brings us one step closer to finding other planets similar to our planet.

Although the planet is very hot and the lack of water means the planet is apparently unable to accommodate the life, scientists say, it remains to be an important step because it shows the rocky planets really existed.

A few days ago, observers trace the sky was fascinated by the beautiful light in the sky that looked like a mysterious sky phenomenon. They wondered whether they had seen, before finally learned that beautiful light coming from the urine of the astronauts.

The visible light shining Wednesday night came as astronauts in space shuttle Discovery discard the dirty water tank into the sky.

Drainage was carried out pilot flight mission STS-128 Kevin Ford, who threw urine and other waste water from the space shuttle before it landed on Earth. Water is removed about 68 kilograms. The reflection of sunlight makes it look wastewater shining from Earth.

Discovery previously visited the international space station (ISS). However, the 10-day visit, the plane was not allowed to throw their trash in order not to contaminate the module Kibo.

Module Kibo is Japanese research labs mounted on the ISS to conduct experiments in space environment. Air emissions from aircraft feared contaminated experimenting.

Waste water is usually frozen and the ice clouds to form. When exposed to the sun, the grain was turned into water vapor and spread into space. Well, that’s waste water that looks as beautiful light from Earth.

When a team of scientists mapped Andromeda, they found the stars they say are “the remnants of dwarf galaxies”. The astronomers reported their findings in the journal Nature.

Eating the stars had been predicted previously, but this survey team provides detailed pictures to show it happened. Figure it shows “hierarchical model” the formation of galaxies is running.

The model predicts that large galaxies Messiah would be surrounded by the remains of a smaller galaxy that they consume. Among scientists to map in detail the outskirts of Andromeda for the first time.

Pauline Barmby, an astronomer from the University of Western Ontario who are involved in this study, told the BBC that the pattern of stars that originally revealed. “Andromeda was so close that we can map all the stars,” he said. Andromeda, which is estimated away 1.5 million light years from Earth is now growing.
